Hello all, I just tried to establish contact between my PC and my Garmin GPSMAP 296, but got stuck, and this is with the latest beta code. As indicated in the readme, I have run with -D9 and here are the resulting log lines: C:\Program Files\GPSbabel>gpsbabel -D9 -i garmin -f usb: -o gpx -F blah.gpx GPSBabel Version: 1.2.8-beta11082005 Windows GUID for interface 0 is \\?\usb#vid_091e&pid_0003#5&295c9401&0&2#{2c9c45c2-8e7d-4c08-a12d-816bba e722c0} TX [12]:00 00 00 00 05 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ............(UNKNOWN ) RX [16]:00 00 00 00 06 00 00 00 04 00 00 00 ef 62 94 b5 .............b..(ACK ) Serial 3046400751. Synced in 0 TX [12]:14 00 00 00 fe 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ............(PRDREQ ) RX [12]:00 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ............(UNKNOWN ) RX [12]:00 00 00 00 02 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ............(UNKNOWN ) TX [12]:14 00 00 00 fe 00 00 00 00 00 00 00 ............(PRDREQ ) This was just a quick check I made on my Win2k machine, but I should soon test this under Gentoo Linux. I did not have any time to study any source code, but am very willing to help run tests on my Garmin unit under either Win or Linux, should any fix be suggested by those who know the USB code well enough. Thanks all! Bye, Luca Brussels, Belgium |
