Sounds like the only There used to be a sample GPX file you could get from geocaching.com to experiment with. I don't recall the location, but it could probably be found in the forums there. (At least it could by someone more patient than myself with that search function...) If you just want to dip your toes in the water slightly, a monthly subscription is something like $3. Though from where I sit, if you're enjoying the sport, flipping the site the cash is the Right Thing To Do and something I recommend anyway, but that's beyond the scope of this list. > way I'll get description & hints is if GeoCaching will include them > in the gpx files, or in some other format. GPSBabel just doesn't do anything with them. > Actually, I'm not looking for it to do the hint conversation - that > problem has been solved over & over. Too easy to do other ways. Why > reinvent the wheel? Well, hint and description are both either HTML or plain text, depending on the tag attributes. This is a key factor that distinguishes them from diff, terr, and cache type, which we do handle. Somehow teaching GPSBabel to decode this sort of stuff and tying input types to output types seems wrong. > Well, I won't send you a patch, but I might send you a style sheet & > post my modified DB as well. Style sheets with accompanying doc are always welcome contributions. RJL |
