On a recent trip out of the country, I forgot to change my GPS logger's time to reflect the different timezone, but I DID remember to change my camera's. So now I have pictures with the correct timestamp and GPS data with the incorrect. Not what you asked, but: my advice is to set the camera and the GPS to UTC and just leave them there. When mounting camera files on unix I do (netbsd): TZ=UTC mount -t msdos /dev/sd0e /usbd0 and then the timestamps are shown in my local timezone. With apologies to TAI fans, UTC is the one true timezone and I think your life will be simpler if all your raw data is always in UTC. |
