Since various OSes have different globbing rules, doing it inside GPSBabel instead of
just letting the shells do it seems wrong.

If you're worried about blowing out line length limits on the shells, take a look at
http://www.gpsbabel.org/htmldoc-1.3.6/batchfile.html

...it shouldn't be too hard to get a wrapper to build those, pre-globbed.

Right. My intent isn't to add batch file processing to the command line tools, as this seems like a task more appropriate for scripting. I'm looking only at the GPSBabel+ GUI tool, which (and I don't know this, because the code provided in the source tarball appears to only be for MacGPSBabel) seems like it should be a matter of browsing the directory specified for files of the type specified, then following the same process currently implemented on each file.

This would be useful because it would allow a user to create a set of steps for processing all files of a given type in a single directory and never touch it again, save for executing it. The current implementation forces a user to change the input file path for each individual .gpx file he or she wishes to process.

Also, I should note that I'm referring to the advanced GUI view, but this could likely also be implemented in the quick view.

|
