Thanks, Charles. I also got some feedback on other channels and it seems it's best to keep it as is for while. Personally I have seen Gpredict used in installations behind proxies. Whether they used the dialog or an environment setting I cannot say. To complicate things further it was a windows cross compilation. Hello everyone, Just wanted to ask whether anybody uses the "Proxy server" setting for TLE update in Gpredict (see attached screenshot)? I'd like to remove this setting as I clean up the 20-year-old codebase. Cheers Alex OZ9AEC |

The transponders list is pulled from the SatNOGS-DB at https://db.satnogs.org - stored in `transponders.json` for gpredict you can edit the file manually if you’d like to add support Sent from my iPhone > On Sep 14, 2020, at 10:29 AM, Michael Renner <mic...@gm...> wrote: > > Moin, > > the new ISS crossband repeater is up and running. Moin, the new ISS crossband repeater is up and running. For me it is an attraction to join the LEOs. But as far as I can see there is no support for the new mode. Do I have to wait till it's implemeted or is there a possibility to somehow expand the existing modes of the ISS? What I'm planning: pair gpredict with the TH-D74 via Bluetooth, track an LPDA on the tripod by hand. vy 73 de Micha, DD0UL -- |Michael Renner E-mail: mic...@gm... | |81541 Munich Twitter: @dd0ul | |Germany Don't drink as root! OK, so what am I doing wrong? Current versions is 2.2.1 Rig: Yaesu FT-847 Was just trying (waiting on) a pass on NUSAT-1 (LO-87) and prior to the pass it showed (show NEXT pass) the track going directly over my QTH. So, when it is displayed on the map in the upper left corner, it is not even close to being what I expected. The “Show current pass” and “Show next pass looked identical to the center screen. So, what am I doing wrong? Patrick, I believe I may have found my problem: https://community.libre.space/t/configuring-gpredict-for-use-with-yaesu-ft-847/974 Shows that even at 57600 baud, it takes 2.1 seconds to get all the commands out. I have the system set up for a 1 second update rate. I'll have to change it to at least 3 seconds and see if my problem disappears. Hello Michael, Looks like an interesting radio; however, I'm afraid I will not be of much help since I don't have the radio. I notice that you configured the radio as "Duplex TRX". In gpredict terminology, this means full duplex, i.e. RX and TX at the same time. Does the radio really support it? Otherwise, you should try "Simplex TRX". Moin, DL3SD built support for the TH-D74 in the hamlib [1]. With this version I can control the device using rigctrl and rigctrld: reading and setting QRGs, switching from VFO A to VFO B ....... I use this version with cqrlog and some of mine scripts. I still had no success with gpredict. Only the active VFO is controlled. I would expect that depending on the configuration (radio type and VFO up / down) [2] both VFOs are controlled. ~/hamlib/bin/rigctld -m 241 -r /dev/ttyACM0 --serial-speed=9600 A quick look with tcpdump on the network shows: S 1 VFOA RPRT -11 t 0 F 145880000 RPRT -11 I 435350000 RPRT -11 t 0 F 145880000 RPRT -11 I 435350000 RPRT -11 t 0 F 145880000 RPRT -11 I 435350000 RPRT -11 The command S (Split mode) does not work, but it is possible to switch the VFOs (shown via telnet): v Now I'm at a loss. 73 de Micha, DD0UL [1] https://github.com/denzs/Hamlib [2] https://twitter.com/dd0ul/status/1069297088092143617 -- |Michael Renner E-mail: dd...@da... | |JN58SC/JN26ED Twitter: dd0ul | |Germany/France Don't drink as root! Colleagues - For any Macintosh users - this might be handy. I have two Macs: MacBook Pro (13 inch early 2011) 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3 10.11.6 El Capitan It was running Gpredict 1.3 but I updated to 2.2.1 via MacPorts, after I selected the installer for the right OS. It did take a while to download and install dependencies, as always. I am currently updating the OS to Sierra, 10.12.6, and expect that it will work without any changes. The system still controls some sizes of fonts, etc on the windows and Alexandru has said that he has some changes and will work them into a future release. On the small screen - some text is hard to read until you magnify. Mac Mini (late 2012) 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 10.10.5 Yosemite It was running Gpredict 1.3 which I upgraded to 2.2 after selecting the right installer for the OS. Now I had both 1.3 and 2.2 installed and the system claimed to be 1.3 though it showed the 2.2 splash screen! So I thought I’d start fresh, uninstalled both versions and went to install 2.2 - it failed since it could not install all dependencies! Of course I should have just uninstalled 1.3 but too late now. So I tried various installers - no joy. I also tried to install from Homebrew - it seems to be a useful alternative to MacPorts. But it also failed to install during installation of dependencies (which was as slow as the MacPorts installation of course). So I am going to put in more RAM, upgrade to Sierra, and try Homebrew installation of 2.2.1 again. This is just for your information - no replies needed. I will upgrade gpredict later, but it seems to that I need to upgrade macports, Xcode, and Mac OSX! --Dan Marlow From: Charles Phillips <ch...@sp...> Reply-To: Charles Phillips <ch...@sp...> Date: Saturday, June 30, 2018 at 4:21 PM To: "Daniel R. It is in the Celestrak list, under Amateur.txt so if you got that it should be in your files. Check Preferences, TLE Update, and make sure that you are getting amateur.txt along with the rest of them. Did you look for FOX-1B (AO-91) ?? I see it in Gpredict, satellite 43017. I see that the OSCAR TLEs are listed in the Celestrak DB, and they are also listed on the AMSAT website. I tried an “Edit->Update TLE->From Network,” which I assume gets the Celestrak TLEs. I also did an Edit->Update TLE->From local files and pointed at a directory containing the file nasabare.txt. Neither command resulted in AO-91 (Fox-1B) appearing in the list that appears when I try to update the preferences for the module that I am using. As noted, I must be missing something basic. Help would be appreciated.
