All distributions I have seen are needing to manually remove this useless symlink:
/usr/include/gphoto2/gphoto2

Thanks for the report.

there is however usually no issue with a gphoto2 -> . symlink.

    hm, edited the description.

    It was meant for incorrect -I/usr/include/gphoto2 users
