The funny thing is that MP4Box doesn't recognize my MPEG-TS stream if the file has an extension other than ".ts". Renaming to ".ts" it works perfectly, without any conversion.

As far as I know it should be possible to transmit MPEG-TS streams as well in MPEG-DASH. Can GPAC generate dash contents based on MPEG-TS?
Yes. We used it to generate our reference DASH sequences (a long time ago):

We also recognize .m2t. Which other extensions do you think we should support?
I was just wondering that you detect MPEG-TS files based on extension, not on content.
