Outlook notes are synced to Google Drive in gdoc format, but this prevent to be viewed or edited by most of applications but Google Docs or compatible. If you try to open these notes with a notepad you don't obtain the content of the note but some internal codes (for instance, if you sync Google Drive with local hard disk on your laptop you would need to open the files without Internet access).
You could include a configuration option to select gdoc or txt (plain text) format. Doing so, users could choose which application will use to edit them and this would increase flexibility of this wonderful program.
