Opera browser
Version 7.51
Build 3798
Platform Win32
System Windows ME
Java Sun Java Runtime Environment version 1.4

My system is: Celeron 633, 128 megs SDRAM.

I launched Opera, exported my bookmarks as html.

I use start menu, Run, and browsed to the goem.jar file.
I clicked 'Ok' to run the jar file.
Goem launches.

I used Goem as follows:
File menu, Open command.
A file picker pops up.
I modify the files of type section, I choose 'Netscape
bookmarks (*.HTML)'.
I navigate to the bookmarks file which I exported as
HTML; it is titled opera6.html

Review: file extension is html, not htm.
File name: opera6.html
'Files of Type' reads: Netscape Bookmarks (*.HTML).

Click the 'Open' button.
Goem churns the hard disk for a few seconds (large file...
. 52 Kbytes) Then, error message:
'Invalid XBEL file format'.

The window behind the error message clearly shows that
Goem is trying to load opera6.html.

HTH....

Note: works somewhat if I open opera.adr using files of type =
adr. One issue there: in Opera bookmarks system, the trash
contains dozens of folders and links in them. Goem did not
import the trash, despite trash having contents.

Goem can't read Netscape (HTML) bookmarks actually.
    I'm working on it.
Soon it will be able to check bad link and to select/expunge bad link.

Netscape bookmarks import operation works in CVS version.

    Check out the CVS repository.
    It should work now.
