Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3721906 By: mz2ptc0 If you also want to compare the md5 or sha checksums before downloading you have to write a small batch file or shell script. I believe there is a Gnuwin `md5sum' utility or else go to Activestate.com for a standalone version. _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3721906 By: brundleflyguy Hi there, I've looked through the forums without finding an answer to this. When using the Windows version of wget, can I tell it to only download the file if the copy on the server is newer? If so, how do I do this? (It looks like the unix version can do it with the -c switch, but from my reading of the --help output -c in the Windows version is a continue option. Thanks! _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. Hi Arnaud, Can't help you with your plea for NSIS help, sorry, but I'd like to clarify... > So, I have decided to download the GSL source files and recompile > it with MYSYS ... I presume you mean MSYS here; if not, what is MYSYS? > / X86_64-mingw32. Wouldn't that just produce 32-bit libraries anyway? If that tool chain is properly named, it should be a cross-compiler creating object code to run in the Win32 emulation layer, but optimised for the 64-bit CPU instruction set, (which seems kind of anomalous anyway); expressed in its full canonical host triplet form, the doublet "X86_64-mingw32" expands to "X86_64-pc-mingw32" [1], and the "mingw32" component is explicitly reserved to represent a Win32 host. A true Win64 compiler *should* specify the host OS as "mingw64". [2] [1] Should the CPU designator not be "x86_64"? These canonical host triplets are intended to be parsed by platform agnostic tools; upper vs. lower case distinctions are significant: $ ./config.sub X86_64-mingw32 Invalid configuration `X86_64-mingw32': machine `X86_64' not recognized but: $ ./config.sub x86_64-mingw32 x86_64-pc-mingw32 [2] Those responsible for the mingw-w64 project fork, (which is *not* affiliated with the MinGW Project), need to get this properly registered with the GNU `config' maintainer: $ ./config.sub x86_64-mingw64 Invalid configuration `x86_64-mingw64': system `mingw64' not recognized Their continued use of "mingw32", which should unequivocally represent the Win32 series of OSes, is an anomaly which needs to be resolved. -- Regards, Keith. |

Hello everyone, I am new in the GnuWin32 mailing list. We used GSL for Windows 32 bit for our bioconductor packages and it works fine. We installed GSL from the GSL library files. We now want to use GSL for Windows 64 bits. I read different forum to find some tips on the installation in this environment. So, I have decided to download the GSL source files and recompile it with MYSYS / X86_64-mingw32. The compilation and installation works fine. Now, it works in my Windows 7 64 bit environment. So, we want to make it available for the community and distribute the GSL 64 bit version as we did with the 32 bit version of GSL. I am trying to use the INNO setup to install the software. I am not an expert on the windows dynamic libraries. So I am wondering, if someone has some suggestions or advice that could help me. Thanks Arnaud. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3707582 By: lowella Yes, you're doing something wrong. The pipe symbol '|' is the regex alternation operator so you are telling gawk that the field separator is either 'a bunch of blanks' or 'a bunch of blanks'; so gawk does exactly what you ask it to do. Try FS=" *[|] *" and you should see a difference--[] is used to create a character list. However, based on how your data is structured and the regex FS seperator, field $1 will be null so your code won't print the column with NULLs in it. You probably want to use print $2, $3, $4, $5, $6. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3707582 By: raysatiro no that is not a bug. you have to escape twice like this
FS=" *\\| *";
for more information read this http://www.gnu.org/software/gawk/manual/gawk.html#Computed-Regexps _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3707582 By: tridsisme Hi there I'm using gawk 3.1.6 to parse some output from isql (Sybase) that looks like the following:
|data_type|type_name |precision |length |scale | |---------|----------------|-----------|-----------|------| | 4|int | 10| 4| 0| | 1|char | 7| 7| NULL| | 12|varchar | 50| 50| NULL| | 12|varchar | 35| 35| NULL| | 12|varchar | 35| 35| NULL| | 12|varchar | 35| 35| NULL| | 12|varchar | 35| 35| NULL| | 12|varchar | 15| 15| NULL| | 12|varchar | 25| 25| NULL| | 1|char | 2| 2| NULL| | 12|varchar | 30| 30| NULL| | 1|char | 1| 1| NULL|
To do so, I am using a regexp FS as follows:
BEGIN { FS=" *| *"; OFS = "\t" } { print $1, $2, $3, $4, $5 }
The result is that the fields are indeed split on the pipes, but field values all INCLUDE the pipes as well! Whereas if the pipes are say colons, and i use FS=" *: *", then i get expected results .. viz: the colons are NOT included with the field values. I have tried escaping the pipe (\|) .. but gawk reports that it is not necessary to do so:
awk: awk\readpipes.awk:7: warning: escape sequence `\|' treated as plain `|'
Am i doing something wrong, or is this a bug/problem that i need to find a workaround for? Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3700601 By: breadbread1984 When I compiled the program with GSL_DLL on. The Visual Studio 05 complained that "__imp_gsl_matrix_submatrix" and "__imp_gsl_matrix_view_array" couldn't be found, which didn't happen without GSL_DLL switch. I think program with GSL on Windows is too tricky. Is there any complete compling guidance? _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3700601 By: breadbread1984 Why the GSL code compiled on VS2005 get runtime error every time.
#include <cstdlib> extern "C" { #include <gsl/gsl_matrix.h> } using namespace std; int main() { double data[9]={1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9}; for(int i = 0 ; i < 100 ; i++) { gsl_matrix_view m = gsl_matrix_view_array(data,3,3); } return EXIT_SUCCESS; }
I have set the runtime check to default which ensure the error about ESP won't happen. So the outcome should be attributed to other problems. Thanks for any suggestion. _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. info from the texinfo package does not work as it should; do not use it. Instead, use some info reader like tkinfo. A2ps should work if you use the installer to install it; otherwise you have to adapt a2ps.cfg and a2ps-site.cfg in the subdirectory etc. In particular, you'll have to change every occurrence of c:/progra~1/a2ps to the directory in which a2ps has been installed, delete references to /usr/bin and replace libpaper by A4. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Hans Lodder" Sent: Tuesday, May 04, 2010 8:39 AM To: <gnu...@li...> Subject: Re: [GnuWin32-Users] GunWin32 programs cannot find ..\share > On 4-5-2010 0:07, GnuWin32 wrote: >> Which programs failed? > > Programs: > > - info > message: > > D:\temp>info > info: dir: No such file or directory > > D:\temp>info a2ps.info > info: dir: No such file or directory > > D:\temp> > > - a2ps > message: > > D:\temp>a2ps > a2ps: cannot find file `level1.ppd': No such file or directory > > And on what OS? > > OS: Win XP Home Multimedia SP3 (Microsoft Windows XP [versie 5.1.2600]) > > Goal: > > I have written a somewhat intelligent cross reference program, which I > want to donate to the public domain. So I checked the GNU reference page, and saw that I have to include documentation in texinfo format. So I experimented with info and texinfo, to no avail. Hi! I tried several GnuWin32 programs. They fail, because they cannot find shared info. The directory /gnuwin32/share does exist, and the files are there. Neither set share=/gunwin32/share does work, nor path=%path%;/gunwin32/share What environment var do I need to define? Regards, Hans Lodder |

Read and respond to this message at: https://sourceforge.net/projects/gnuwin32/forums/forum/74807/topic/3690936 By: mz2ptc0 I have already installed the update to m4. Thanks a lot, but I would like a source code package as well. Since I have installed MSYS and MinGW (32-bit of course) I have tried building a few GnuWin packages such as grep, pcre, regex and sed. For example, grep can be optionally configured with pcre but by default it is not. _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. In the Visual C++ IDE make sure you have selected to include the default libraries and check the build log. If it is Windows XP or Vista you are building on you may still want to update to the Windows SDK for Windows 7 anyway. _____________________________________________________________________________________ You are receiving this email because you elected to monitor this topic or entire forum. Does dir /b /s do what you need? Else you might try find from the findutils. -------------------------------------------------- From: "Richard Fisher" Sent: Friday, April 09, 2010 11:39 PM To: gnuwin32-users Subject: [GnuWin32-Users] cpio in Windows > Anyone know how to create a cpio archive of a directory and subdirectories > and files using Gnuwin32 cpio? > > I've tried Gnuwin32 ls and ls -R piped into cpio -o > cpiofile but it > doesn't copy the files within the subdirectories. > > Thanks. > ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ > Download Intel® Parallel Studio Eval > Try the new software tools for yourself. Anyone know how to create a cpio archive of a directory and subdirectories and files using Gnuwin32 cpio? I've tried Gnuwin32 ls and ls -R piped into cpio -o > cpiofile but it doesn't copy the files within the subdirectories. Thanks. |
