Hello,

when I run

gnuplot file -

I see the plot (instruction for which are in the file) and am afterwards left with an interactive session, as wanted. However, I would also like to see (and have in the history) the commands read from the file. Is anything like that possible?

No. The tracking of command history is part of the subsystem that reads as you type on the terminal. It never sees the input read from a file.
