Which gnuplot terminals? qt? wxt? x11?
What window manager is in use?
Gnome? Plasma?
Xorg? XWayland? Something else?

Are the gnuplot executables you are comparing from the same source?

Can you provide the output from the command show version long for the executable that shows the bug and the one that doesn't?
