#2808 EMF enhanced terminal inserts bogus space before italic character

gnuplot version 6.1 ( git commit aa95c306382..., Date Tue May 20 19:53:34 2025)
Ubuntu 20.04 (x86-64)

Plotting something on the EMF terminal with set ylabel 'RMS fitting error ({/:Italic E}_h)' results in a bogus space being inserted before the E, so it looks something like this:
RMS fitting error ( E_h) instead of RMS fitting error (E_h)
The other terminals I have tested, including SVG, are not doing this, see attached files.
