#2720 [6.0.0] ticks broken with `set size ratio -1 1,1`

This works fine;

set view map
n=10; d=-0.5; splot [-0.92:30] [-.6:.6] x with pm3d

However, adding

set size ratio -1 1,1

makes ticks on the x-axis-border disappear (too short?) and makes ticks on the y-axis-borders huge
