It seems that sourceforge does not allow creation of new account (due to “failure to connect to recaptcha”). So new reporters cannot comment on their bug reports.

Example: I reported #2372, and it was closed without even reading what I wrote. (The apparent reason is that 100**(54./102)≈11.4 “did not seem” to be “a random number” — as far as placement of minor ticks is concerned. (BTW, I’m retrying now, and [at some zoom factors] I see minor ticks between 10⁶ and 10⁸ to be put at 1.24e7, 2.42e7, 3.53e7 etc.; the precision is ±2%.)

I appreciate the explanation for the incomplete bug report, but I'm afraid I can't do anything about account creation problems.

If you are having problems with the SourceForge site itself, I think you will have to report those to SourceForge directly. I/we/gnuplot-the-project have no control over SourceForge accounts or infrastructure.

Note: I am seeing bug reports from other people who created an account for the purpose within the past few days. So whatever problems you were having may have been some transitory issue on the site.
