Yes, it's alive.  People are contributing patches from time to time
and there will be a 1.1 release in a little while.  I guess the
current release probably satisfies most of the needs of most of the
users, so there's not a huge amount of development happening.

By all means!  Why not send a patch?  What are you interested in
working on?  You might get some inspiration from the Bugs and Plans
sections of the web site.  If you have other ideas that aren't up
there yet, please either submit enhancement requests, or post them to
the list.
