I have followed instructions building the MinGW. I have not encountered any problems during the make, make check and make install, yet somehow when I tried to compile a program it failed.
This default.conf exists in that directory, the only problem is the compiler use '\' instead of '/'????

As Edward already said on the mailing list consider to upgrade to GnuCOBOL 2.2.
