Has anyone here in the forum considered using the pkgsrc.org infrastructure to
    achieve portability for building gnat?

    Best regards,

    Marko

I don't suppose anyone is going to make GNAT Pro packages available here (I
for one could, but since the contract with AdaCore is with my employer I'm
not going to. It's going to be FSF GCC or GNAT GPL.

Anyway, with regard to the pkgsrc suggestion, personally I work on (Intel)
Macs, where some people use the Fink infrastructure for similar reasons, but
it's more Mac-ish to supply disk images (.dmg). I haven't got my head round
that, but good ole tar does a pretty good job.

I meant GNAT GPL instead of GNAT Pro, sorry for the confusion.

I am aware of Fink and MacPorts. pkgsrc.org would have the advantage of making
your ports available on a greater variety of OSs: NetBSD, Solaris, Linux, Mac
OS X, FreeBSD, OpenBSD, IRIX, BSD/OS, AIX, DragonFlyBSD, OSF/1, HP-UX, and QNX
provided the compiler supports the architecture...

    Best regards,

    Marko
