The FSF tree branched the trunk for the eventual 4.2 release. This is usually the time when the primary Ada maintainers (most of whom work for AdaCore) start folding in updates into the trunk (i.e. not the 4.2 branch but the trunk which will eventually be 4.3).
Quite a few updates have already happened (looking at the changelog) including some Ada 2005 updates, lots of bug fixes and various feature updates.

For me it is not really all that tricky. I don't have a lot of time to dedicate to the project (though I do what I can). I will put together a release for the real 4.2 when it comes out (Sparc Solaris) but not for the stuff in Trunk. I mostly keep an eye on the trunk to see what is coming and I do occasionally build it under Centos x86. It is harder to stay current under Solaris because my Solaris HW is a little older and not always powered up (it is a bit of a power hog).

And - as allways - this puts us into a tricky situation: latest-greates vs. stable branch.
