gnomad2 fails to connect Zen Touch

My OS is ubuntu Karmic Koala 64 bits. Iinstalled gnomad2 from repository with all dependencies. The software works well if I call the program with gksu, but several days later, when I try to connect my Creative Zen Touch (20 GB), the software fail to detect the mp3 device. I think of than there is a problem with the usb dependency and the MTP protocol, because the problem appears later to updates. Anyone knows how to handle this situation, how to shield the gnomad2 dependencies against updates?
Can you please try this with the latest versions of libmtp and gnomad2?
