Hello, No book (AFAIK), but you have a pool of users here who are more than happy to share their experience. And instead of screenshots, there are some “living” examples, like the installer itself [1], the GWenerator (GUI version) [2], and and TeXCAD [3] only to cite a few open-source ones... For the latter I did a prototype with each of CLAW, JEWL, GWindows and perhaps GtkAda. I remember JEWL being very elegant, slightly less flexible than GW (e.g. relying much on enumerated types and generics). It was in 2003, so I might be mixed up with memory. Cheers Gautier __ [1] http://gnavi.svn.sourceforge.net/viewvc/gnavi/gwindows/installer/ (svn checkout only) [2] in the ./gwenerator/src directory [3] http://texcad.sourceforge.net/ From: Philippe Laval Sent: Thursday, March 08, 2012 5:19 PM To: General Discussion of GNAVI Subject: Re: [Gnavi-discuss] problems installing the 14 Feb 2012 GW Le 08.03.2012 14:52, Gautier de Montmollin a écrit : Hello, The problems mentioned should be gone now; I have also updated readme.txt and changes.txt in the new release. At least, after installation from "GWindows Setup 07-Mar-2012.exe", when you start GPS GPL 2011 with gwindows.gpr and lauch a "Build All" command, it compiles all files of GNATCOM and GWindows. It also compiles successfully the ado* and tom* files, whatever these things do... That is working in both ANSI and Unicode modes. Thank you for your help. I will soon give a try to the 7-Mar-2012 revision. For now I try to adapt my previous code, which was designed from the start for Jewl, to GWindows, and perhaps add new functionalities now made possible by GW. I have to delve into the source files to discover what a procedure or function exactly do, besides what is intended by their name together with the few comments in the specif. The tutorials help a little, but many things can only be found by trial and error. Of course what should be needed would be a complete book with examples and screenshots but I understand that for this matter GW is not yet at the level of, say, OpenGL...
