#1 gmd requires bash

gms requires bash to work. It would be nice to use
other shells such as sh/ksh etc.
Alternatively gmd documentation should indicate this
condition and enforce it programmatically.

Not sure how useful it is to work with other SHELLs - but it may be helpful to throw a warning if it the shell variable is not bash.
