This tool is for those people using Gmail that synchronizes with Outlook. When Gmail cannot map a piece of data to Outlook contacts (e.g. multiple addresses, more than 3 email addresses, multiple titles, etc), Gmail creates an attachment to the Outlook contact titled "GMail properties with no Outlook mapping.txt". If you delete the attachment, Gmail automatically recreates it, and in some cases the extraneous information is not accessible in Gmail and can never be deleted. This tool will delete ALL of these attachments, and the corresponding information from the contact in Gmail so be sure that you wish to delete the information found in the attachments. To use:
- Download and save GoogleAttachmentRemoval.bas to your computer
- Start Outlook 2010/2013, enable Developer tab on ribbon
- Go to Developer tab, select Visual Basic, then File..Import and import GoogleAttachmentRemoval.bas
- Select File...Close and Return
- In Outlook, Developer tab, click Macros, select and run
