I have a Logitech MX610 mouse, and there exists an app called mx610hack that can light up the e-mail and IM buttons on the mouse.

It would be nice to be able to issue that command through gmail-notifier...
When there is no new mail, another command can turn the light off.

Of course, a lot of other thing could be run this way.
