#61 Opening xcf from finder fails if gimp is running

I'm running the latest 2.8.4 Gimp package on Snow Leopard 10.6.8.
If I have gimp closed and double-click on an xcf in finder, it opens just fine. If gimp is running and I double-click on an xcf, it errors out with the attached dialog:
The document "foo" could not be opened. Gimp cannot open files in the "Gimp Image" format.

Same problem here - happens for any file type if Gimp is running. TIFF, PNG, XCF, etc. Gimp 2.8.4, OS X 10.8.3

this is now fixed in the latest patch release 2.8.4p2

Has this been applied to the Snow Leopard - Lion binary, or just Mountain Lion? I'm running Snow Leopard 10.6.8
