   Here is the first one. I tried "gimpprint-config" like this:

       # gimpprint-config --libs
       /usr/local/bin/gimpprint-config: syntax error at line 91: `(' unexpected

   The lines in gimpprint-config read as follows:

   89  if test "$echo_libs" = "yes"; then
   90        libdirs=-L${exec_prefix}/lib
   91        echo $libdirs $gimpprint_libs $(top_builddir)/intl/libintl.a
   92  fi

I thought we fixed this.  It should be ${top_builddir} rather than
$(top_builddir).

   If I change the line just ommitting the brackets, I get this result:

   # gimpprint-config --libs
   -L/usr/local/lib -lgimpprint -lm /intl/libintl.a

   This obviously is not correct. $top_builddir is empty, because it is not
   defined anywhere before in the gimpprint-config script....

     --> Is this " '('unexpected" message a bug in gimpprint-config?
	 Or is it a shortcoming of my version of the Bash?

This is a bash-ism; /bin/sh requires braces rather than parentheses.
