From: Guido Socher <gu...@be...> Date: Fri, 29 Jun 2001 18:31:28 +0200 I am running cups 1.1.6 and 1.1.8 on two computers and somehow the postscript generated by gimpprint is alway interpreted as ascii. That is, I do not get a color printout but postscript source code. I take it you're using the Postscript output option from the GIMP Print plugin? Whatever's going on here, you'll get better results using the appropriate driver for your printer. Is this a known problem (no, I don't use the -o raw option)? .... or shall I investigate what is going on? I am a bit surprised by that as cups is mentioned as supported printing system on the gimp print pages. There are two different meanings for "supported" here. The GIMP Print plugin should be able to print to any spooling system; in that sense, it supports any spooler (lpd, CUPS, LPRng, etc.). However, the same code that makes up the plugin can also be used to drive printers from within CUPS; that's what we mean by "supported" here. -- Robert Krawitz <rl...@al...> http://www.tiac.net/users/rlk/ Tall Clubs International -- http://www.tall.org/ or 1-888-IM-TALL-2 Member of the League for Programming Freedom -- mail lp...@uu...
