Some of them have the same ImageableArea and some are just the Landscape version of a different paper name. Sorry for the massive amount of text, but I think it is easier than attaching a file. There are other differences besides the number of media sizes. Please try the Stylus Photo R1800 vs. the R800 and see which one(s) work. That's a good test because the printers are identical other than carriage width. The landscape vs. portrait entries are real, for printers that can accept the paper fed either way. I don't think we can simply remove them. |

Hi There! Dan Bashur here from Low End Mac.. I'd really love to get my Kodak Hero 9.1 going on MacOS Mojave and later. If you need a copy of the old driver to reverse engineer some things, I'd be happy to provide it. The one thing that I can tell you is that the Kodak All in One software partially broke in High Sierra and completely broke in Mojave and later. You can't run the installer at all in Mojave and later (might be a 32-bit only "outer wrapper" for the package), but all of the critical packages will execute individually. In High Sierra the installer itself actually still executes and lets you apply the driver (MacOS pulls down the XCode Command Line tools to let the installer execute in High Sierra as well as the individual packages in Mojave/Catalina if that gives you any hints). Oddly enough, you can't print to the printer directly once you install everything in High Sierra and apply the driver, but it will let you print when another fully supported Mac is on the same network (example - one running Snow Leopard) with the drivers installed via printer sharing. There has to be some kind of bug in the way the printer handshakes on the network in High Sierra that causes the Kodak All in One software to partially malfunction despite the driver being there and the printer being detected. In Mojave/Catalina one of the packages bundled in the installer does not work at all and could be a critical one. Will have to verify exactly which one failed. At any rate, if a Gutenprint Driver can fix these issues (especially in Mojave/Catalina), that would be wonderful! I can live without some of the multifunction features as you can go straight to the machine to fax as needed or scan documents straight to an attached thumb drive and can use the sharing mechanism in High Sierra as a workaround. It's a pity Kodak shuttered it's printing business so fast and later drivers and some further updates were not made to the Kodak All in One software. These Heros (especially the feature rich 9.1) were high quality machines. I've owned mine for 13 years and only had to replace one print head. Otherwise flawless and extremely economical! Thanks for all your hard work on Gutenprint/GIMP Print over the years. If you have a donate button, I'd be happy to contribute if you can get this working for my Kodak Hero 9.1. I am working on two fronts. The first and most successful, building universal packages on an i86 machine. I still can only build by hand but I am making progress automating most of it. I have also discovered the uninstall script is not properly notarized. The second front is to build a universal package on my M1 machine. I have two bugs (at least) I’m working with. One, if the directory structure is too deep I fail signing files. Two, building a disk image fails. In the first case I have a simple workaround. The second, I copy everything over to an i86 system and build the image there. I’d like to build an official release (candidate) this weekend, if we are ready. Moved back to 5.3.3 with exactly the same results So I crash with either 5.3.3 under Rosetta 2 or the experimental M1 native 5.3.4. With the HP Officejet driver I don’t have a problem. I may not be seeing the same problem but when I try to bring up printer features any application “quits unexpectedly”. This on my M1 with the latest M1 version of Gutenprint. I upgraded to BG SUR before finding out it seems not to work with Brother MFC7360N printer- I get persistent erroneous “out of paper” message. And yet, on 1-2 occasions I have printed successfully- I can’t figure out why this happens when it does. Brother seems not to have a driver using OS 11.2.1 for this machine- or any OS 11drivers for it. MFC7360 seems not to support AIRPRINT. Does Gutenprint have any suggestions? AM I reluctantly forced to replace this perfectly functioning MFC machine? Always, no, sometimes think it’s me. But you know I know when it’s a dream. If I want to bring support for my L375: Where do I start? Could you give me a heads up? I am willing to read, learn, research whatever you throw to my hands. I've tried using the L375 telling my system that the printer is a L310 but I got blinking light but no actual printing. That's as far as I got, and believed that ESC/P-R was the culprit. I have a L375, It does have the same printhead as L310, but L375 and modern EPSON L-Series uses ESC/P-R instead of ESC/P2. I believe that is why it is not supported by Gutenprint. Right? But Epson doesn't publish detailed specs as much, so short of buying one it might be hard for me to determine. |

I am curious about this as well, Did you use WinGP (Gutenprint Windows Port by Dickobraz) ? I believe it is the only Windows port available. It is quite old, circa 2010, and have not been updated.
