    using 5.2.8

    Can anyone explain to me why the epson 7900 and 9900 printer descriptions use the escp2/qualitypresets/prox900.xml file instead of the standard.xml file?
    And in particular, why those two files differ only in lines 50-52,
    where the presets for "Photo" quality are specified as:
    <minimumResolution>720 1440</minimumResolution>
    <maximumResolution>720 2880</maximumResolution>
    <desiredResolution>720 1440</desiredResolution>
    which is an impossible combination,
    as the 7900 and 9900 have a maximum vertical resolution of 1440,
    identical to that of the 3880,
    which uses standard.xml?

    for the record:
    As reported by Robert Krawitz:
    The problem is that the x900 printers apparently don't have a 1440x720
    resolutionn; they have a 720x1440 resolution. So that's what photo
    mode should use on lower quality paper (on better paper, it will use
    the desiredResolution, which is 1440x1440). The fact that the
    maximumResolution is specified as 720x2880 doesn't matter.
