Canon pixma mg 5250 by usb is supported out of the box for Fedora 19 with gutenprint 5.2.9-11 as a pixma 5200-series printer and seems to work fine for grayscale printing. There are options for color printing but I have not succeeded in getting any color on paper with them. I'm happy to tweak settings, troubleshoot and debug if someone can tell me what to do.

    Hello Jonathan,
Please set the following in the standard printer dialog to print something in color (recommended application for this test: Firefox):

    1. media: plain
    2. resolution mode: "600x600 DPI HIGH" or "600x600 DPI" or "300x300 DPI"
    3. color model: RGB
    4. inkset: CMYK

I do not know what tray you will need, but I assume either cassette or rear tray will be fine, and if those work then automatic paper source switching should be fine as well.

Please let me know results with the above 3 resolution modes.

If you can compile gutenprint from CVS we can test the latest code and any required patches also.

    Regards,
    Gernot Hassenpflug
