In order to complete the 'gigacontr' frontend program's '--logdump' function, I need more testing data from different installations than my own. The format of the log records is not documented by Siemens, and although I have figured out the basic structure as well as most of the actual data fields, a few points remain which I cannot resolve based on the data from my own Gigaset. In particular, I am missing log records from:
- outgoing calls with charging information
- operation with multiple answering machines
If you have one (or both) of these, you could help me very much by running the command:
gigacontr --logdump - > logdump.out
and mailing the resulting file logdump.out (duly anonymized) to:
gigaset-logs@pxnet.com
for analysis. You'll need a sufficiently recent version of 'gigacontr' for this - either the one from release 0.4.1 or the current CVS version (which will also work with the driver from release 0.4.0). Feel free to ask if you have any questions about this.
