I hope so, I've tried to make it a clean refactor, basically just moved the
request cascading code back in WMSLayer while
making the operation pluggable, and added a test for it that was not there
before (request cascading was not tested at all).
Finally, did some interactive testing in the stand alone version to make
sure it's working as expected.

So.. any feedback? Should I prepare a pull request against the 1.5.x branch?
Also, were all the fixes ported to the 1.5.x branch, if so, we could
release from it no?
