Thanks! > Mumble, a few other questions came to mind, this time more admin/process oriented. First off, where would the development occur? I guess in some branch of a clone of the official GWC git, right? Then, say the features are ready, and a push is prepared. Where would that land? Regardless of a review the work would not be battle tested, so it should probably stay away of a "stable" series. Does GWC has a concept of stable series though? How is the difference between bug fixes and "potentially unstable new features" managed? Another thing that I was thinking about is what to do with people upgrading if the metastore is gone. Would they have to wipe out and redo the tile cache? Is it something that we could figure out automatically? Also, removing a concept/interface is always somewhat a hard sell, what if somebody implemented metastore in some other way? Finally, say we put everything on the file system (using sha-1 hashing, controlling the tile times and so on)... what happens if someone created a custom blob store that is not file system based? Hmm... and also, the ideas about controlling the date of a tile either in the tile timestamp itself or even in a sidecar file would not be applicable unless also BlobStore is modified. Hmm.. I guess an alternative could be that the same object implements both BlobStore and Metastore and follows the rules we depicted above to keep everything on the same filesystem.
