The source code for JMapFrame can be found here: https://github.com/geotools/geotools/blob/master/modules/unsupported/swing/src/main/java/org/geotools/swing/JMapFrame.java And the Javadoc can be found here: http://docs.geotools.org/latest/javadocs/org/geotools/swing/JMapPane.html This is using the latest from the source respository (SNAPSHOT). If this is not appropriate; What version of GeoTools are you using and a bit more background about you needs; Why are you using GeoTools and What are you developing? The Swing Module is an unsupported module meaning that it is not actively developed or maintained. If you find a bug or have a suggested improvement then you are strongly encouraged to provide a fix and accompany test case for it to be included in the source code.
