[Geotools-gt2-users] Are style rules evaluated once or each time when a map is redrawn?

Hi,

I have create a feature style which is based on two
rules. The first rule has a filter, while the second 
one is the else rule.

The filter is a query on a simple feature attribute.

My question: Is it enough to redraw the map if the 
feature attribute changes or do I have to create a
new style?

To reformulate it: is the filter rule evaluated 
  (a) once or 
  (b) each time the map is redrawn?

If (a): is there a way to refresh the style "cache"?
