On the GeoServer ml I said it was hard to make it the right way. I guess what you've done falls in the category of "hacked SLD 1.0"? "As for supporting a hacked SLD 1.0 with a notion of units, that could take less time, but still far away from stuff doable in spare time" Or you've modified the parser to actually read SE 1.1?
