[Geotools-devel] newbie question about finding dimensions of image

I am pretty much a newbie regarding GIS and just started looking over the
geoTools API's today.   I'm trying to find a function that can take in a URI
of an image and then return the dimensions of that image.  Sounds easy
enough, but I can't seem to find anything yet.  Any ideas?
