Make GeoTIFF use Hints ---------------------- Key: GEOT-545 URL: http://jira.codehaus.org/browse/GEOT-545 Project: GeoTools Type: Improvement Components: geotiff Reporter: Bryce Nordgren Assigned to: Bryce Nordgren I do not know how to use hints such that the User can specify which EPSG authority factories the GeoTiff plugin should use. The current code searches for an EPSG factory with "null" as a hint. The main conceptual problem for me is that GeoTiffFormatSpi(s) create GeoTiffFormat(s), which create GeoTiffReader(s), which create GeoTiffCoordinateSystemAdapter(s), which needs to use the user-specified authority factory. I see no way for the user to specify this, as it is not passed to the top-level object. The conversations I heard about "hints" thus far are for plugins to specify what they need, not for app writers to communicate to plugins. This is the opposite of what I'm trying to do. Perhaps this is not even the correct mechanism. To resolve this issue, the intrepid programmer must conjure some mechanism for users to direct the GeoTIFF plugin to use a set of Authority Factories of their choosing. -- This message is automatically generated by JIRA. - If you think it was sent incorrectly contact one of the administrators: http://jira.codehaus.org/secure/Administrators.jspa - For more information on JIRA, see: http://www.atlassian.com/software/jira |
