Hi. Does anyone know if there are naming standards for "common" projection parameters (like "semi-major", "semi-minor", etc.)? I'm looking for something on the order of a set of "public static final String"(s) which can be used by plugins (GeoTiff) and projection implementations (Mercator). Ideally, these would be in GeoAPI rather than Geotools. I've looked, but I'm not finding. (My wife would not be surprised.) Looking at the import list on my GeoTiff plugin, I have imported the FactoryFinder from Geotools and the rest of the functionality is built around the GeoAPI interfaces. However, this is a deceptive metric of isolation if there are no naming standards for parameters. I am very much tied to the Geotools way of naming parameters. Worse, I don't think there's anything keeping future implementations of projections inside Geotools from deciding to name a parameter semiMajor or SemiMajor or even S3m1Maj0r. The current ones are probably all the same because Martin wrote them all. However, I'm optimistic that I just missed the naming standards and all is well. :) Bryce |
