I have several questions about reprojecting a large multi-band raster. = My input file contains 8 bands related to a landscape ( elevation, slope, aspect, vegetation, etc.) and ranges from 60Mb to 300Mb. A simple rewrite of the Ascii-grid plugin allowed me to read the data a= s a coverage, which I have successfully reprojected. However, I'm current= ly limited to writing one band at-a-time. To reproject and write a single= image for one band with a 350Mb input file takes about 3 minutes -- yielding 24 minutes for the entire operation! Is "multi-band" the correct term to be using? My data has 8 attribute= s, and all 8 are tied to a single point on a 2D grid. Is "multi-band" synonymous with "multi-dimensional"? What is the best approach for reading the raster once and concurrently writing all 8 bands as separate images? My thinking was that maybe t= his could be done with a custom image encoder. Or is there a way to render each sample dimension of the coverage as a separate map layer and then write out each layer as an image?
