Hey, You're nicely ambitious. First of all, we are hoping to get a release sometime in the next week or so. Ideally this will be 2.2.0 but may be a final RC if things don't settle down. We have been logistically unable to release. Secondly, there is a section in the developer guide on how to make a release. It's called something like "How+to+cut+a+release" (pluses for the browser url). You may get some good info from that. Thirdly, we are using Maven2 for everything. Maven1 was broken and no one wanted to fix it so we jumped to Maven2. So don't try maven1, you will be wasting your time. Fourthly, the build was broken yesterday. Cory Horner said: Hey folks, The 2.2.x branch appears to be broken, so in order to keep it alive, i'm kicking out ext/go and ext/mappane from the build (in ext/pom.xml). Please go forth and fix these :) for ext/go: [INFO] Compilation failure c:\java\geotools\2.2.x\ext\go\src\org\geotools\geometry\array \CompressionLevel.java:[112,19] compareTo(java.lang.Object) in org.geotools.geometry.array.CompressionLevel cannot override compareTo(java.lang.Object) in org.opengis.util.CodeList; overridden method is final for ext/mappane: the following jar needs to be rebuilt with java 1.4 and deployed: http://lists.refractions.net/m2/org/geowidgets/geowidgets/1.0-M1/geowidgets-1.0-M1.jar Thanks, Cory. So he may have kicked out the offenders and gotten things clean again. So if you are in a hurry, read the developer's guide. If you would rather wait, please keep an eye out and test the release for your needs as soon as it comes out. *Anything* you don't like is an issue we want to know about. Finally, if you do get a build, please let us know. It will in essence be the release candidate of the moment. I, for one, would love to bat it around. hope that helps and thanks for your interest, --adrian On Mon, 2006-07-31 at 22:27 -0700, Hyink, Jeffrey (LCDR) wrote: > Hello all, > > > > I’m in a serious do-loop trying to make a full build of GeoTools 2.2. > Initially, I started using the 2.2RC3 bin and javadoc, but the javadoc > is incomplete, so I decided to venture into making a full build, and > haven’t had any luck: > > > > Try 1: Got the GT2.2RC3.src and did a maven2 build on it, and it I > got a useable project file, but no source code attached…? > > > > Try 2: It seems like the development is leaning back toward Maven 1, > so I tried to build GT2.3RC3 and RC4 from direct downloads of the tags > from the SVN site with maven1, and there is an usupported jar file > reference that is blocking the build jsde_concurrent-9.0.jar.
