No

should GO:0007005 mitochondrion organization be a parent to
GO:0000422 mitochondrion degradation (=mitophagy) ? (currently I think they are not linked) The only parent to mitophagy is, at present, autophagy.

NB Definition of GO:0007005 mitochondrion organization is: “A process that is carried out at the cellular level which results in the assembly, arrangement of constituent parts, or disassembly of a mitochondrion; includes mitochondrial morphogenesis and distribution, and replication of the mitochondrial genome as well as synthesis of new mitochondrial components.”

Isn’t degradation a kind of disassembly?

Existing relationships for other organelles might be interesting comparisons - e.g. GO:0030242 peroxisome degradation is a child of GO:0007031 peroxisome organisation, whereas GO:0044804 nucleophagy is NOT a child of GO:0006997 nucleus organisation - so there appear to be discrepancies...

NB Should be relatively easy to sort this out
