Category: InterPro mapping Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Submitted By: Petra Fey (pfey) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: IPR004023 - sex determination Initial Comment: Hello, IPR004023 is the mago nashi protein that seems to be present in all eukaryotes. While it was discovered in Drosophila and confirmed in worm that it does play a role in sex determination, I think this process annotation should not be there, as Dicty, Entamoeba and such that don't have different sexes all have that protein. This protein has been shown to export RNA out of the nucleus. Maybe GO:0006405 RNA export from nucleus would be a good option as a process term.
