Category: InterPro mapping Group: InterPro Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: RFoulger (rfoulger) Assigned to: Siew-Yit Yong (syong) Summary: IPR000402 GO mapping: ATPase Initial Comment: This stems from a GO query from Doug at ZFIN: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3413006&group_id=36855&atid=440764 It looks suspicious to have IPR000402 (a P-ATPase) mapped to 'ATP biosynthetic process ; GO:0006754' for the following reasons: 1. GO uses 'ATP hydrolase' as an exact synonym for ATPase activity ; GO:0016887 (EC:3.6.1.3). 2. The blurb in the InterPro entry says 'P-ATPases function to transport a variety of different compounds, including ions and phospholipids, across a membrane using ATP hydrolysis for energy'. 3. Chris Mungall's Function/Process inferences suggest 'ATP catabolic process ; GO:0006200' based on annotation to GO:0005391 "sodium:potassium-exchanging ATPase activity. We can go over it in person on the 4th, at the InterPro2GO session, if you like.
