Just a heads up here. As some of you might know, I've been franticly working the past month to ditch the old collision and physics engine, in favor of ODE ( http://www.ode.org ). This engine is far superior to what I've been using. As of tonight, I finally have it all working, and am just about ready to commit the code. Basically this will mean the following: 1) FreeSOLID will be removed from the tree, and the build. 2) ODE and OPCODE will be added to the build. 3) A huge commit touching every file in the server will be made, containing the new physics bindings. I wanted to do this all in one shot, as the game has been totally unplayable, and the server mostly unstable for the past few weeks. I wasn't willing to commit the new code, until the server was at least as featureful as the old physics/collision engine allowed it to be. Once I do a few more cleanups, and a few more quick tests, I'll be committing the code. Possibly wed or thursday, barring any disasters. There will probably be a few bugs to hunt down, though most things seem to pretty much work. I'm not really taking full advantage of the features the physics provide yet, but I intend to do so in the coming months. --- Tim Rightnour <ro...@ga...> NetBSD: Free multi-architecture OS http://www.netbsd.org/ Genecys: Open Source 3D MMORPG: http://www.genecys.org/ |
