The Generic DataBase Modeling Tool (GenDBM) uses the MDA approach to provide a database modeling environment for both relational and geographical models.
It also uses the Generic Database Metamodel (GEDBM) which gathers concepts of the most used modeling languages and notations (ER, Crow's Foot, Min-Max, UML, OMT-G, etc.).
The tool is able to generate ANSI SQL and SQL/SFS code from any solution adherents to its meta-model. Actually, it is provided graphical environments for: ER (relational) and OMT-G, using OMT-G Design (geographical). The Tool is a set of plug-ins for Eclipse.
We recommend Eclipse Modeling Tools (Juno or Kepler versions). To install the tool, just unzip the downloaded file and copy all the files to your eclipse's plugins folder. After that, it is possible to create a new diagram in New->Other->Gendbmtool Diagram.
We are still constructing this page. Soon, several tutorials will be available.
