This link to sites and even helpfiles would allow alot of extensabillity to code checkers as well as document sites and even code snipit sites. This feature is in PSPad and others and could provide a big impact with probably a minimum of work. This would be extremely helpful! Please consider. Thank you. It is a great product, keep up the good work.

The thing to consider about links between documents, sites and really any programs is that there is a "Terminal" tab as part of the "Message Window" at the bottom of Geany. You can simply have the URL in the text, type "firefox" or whatever other browser-start command in the terminal, and paste the URL, and then enter. It takes only a few more steps though, saving no more than a few seconds.

You can already open links between documents by right-clicking on the text of an absolute or relative address on your file-system, and selecting "Open Selected File".

However, it would be very useful to have a quicker way of doing all this automatically, something equivalent to the Linkification Extension ( https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/190 ) for Firefox, where any text that contains certain words (http, etc.) is automatically made into a clickable link (in this case opening your standard browser). Really, even greater would be such a thing to make links for online and offline addresses and commands automatically.

Essentially, the way to do it (more or less) is already there with the option to right-click on highlighted text or go to Edit, then Format -> Send Selection To, and the program command... It's just that, at the moment, it only replaces the highlighted text with the output of the command run... If it actually ran the command instantly, and used a Linkification-like system to identify these commands/links, there are so many great possibilities for what could result (a replacement for similar HTML, PDF, etc. -systems perhaps?; more integration?). It should be very customizable though, not just a strict system (could cause problems otherwise).

Sending code to pastebin is realized with geanypaste. Others can be done via send selection to. Don't see any additional feature need here.
