It would be nice to be able to cut/copy/paste files in the treebrowser. I'd be reluctant to add these commands to the context menu since it's too long as it is, but we could make these commands accessible via standard keyboard shortcuts.
There are two things to consider with this proposal.
1) plugins should not set default keybindings, you have no way of knowing if you are overwriting bindings set by the user for something else, or set by another plugin (or if something else is overwriting your bindings).
2) even if it is ok to set keybindings, they should not be the only way of triggering an action since they are not discoverable, menu items are, and indicate the keybinding
