I would suggest you start by compiling GDCM, and then compare the output of your compilers with the warnings as displayed on: http://public.kitware.com/dashboard.php?name=gdcm You can see that GDCM produce a couple of warnings during compilation. Some users are particularly looking for someone to fix those, unfortunately some warnings are hard to solve and require some great C++ skills.
