Just for summary. Petchirajan J did sent me his dataset. For some reason he manage to write out an invalid DICOM dataset (which is why dcm4chee refuse to accept it). I am not sure how that happen using the gdcm API. I will investigate but basically there is a messed up sequence. BTW FFFE is the group tag for Item Start / Item End not just Basic Offset Table marker (which is just a specialization of an Item).
